Reminder… no change for daylight savings time, KPK still follows coconut at 1215 UTC on 8104.

Beginning on January 3, 2016, Radio “KPK” representing the Seven Seas Cruising Association (SSCA) and the Caribbean Safety & Security Net (CSSN) will begin broadcasting at 1215 hours UTC (0715 EST or 0815 AST)  “KPK will continue to broadcast on SSB frequency 8.104.

This change is to avoid conflict with other nets and we hope the later time will find better propagation to the Caribbean and Bahamas.

The purpose of this service is to:

  1. Pass emergency & priority traffic, as well as traffic related to safety
    and security.
  2. Provide current news updates of interest to cruisers from such
sources as the Caribbean Safety & Security Net, Noonsite, The
Salty Southeast Cruisers Net, Caribbean Compass, Bahamas
    Chatter and others.
  3. And to provide any vessels needing assistance with land based
    resources.
