CSSN Welcomes Caribbean 1500 participants to the BVI
This year’s Caribbean 1500 fleet was 35 boats strong, with 134 sailors making the passage from Portsmouth, VA to Nanny Cay, Tortola. All boats arrived safely and enjoyed a fun-filled prize giving ceremony as a final wrap up to their festivities. The C1500 is organized by the World Cruising Club, and began in 1990, and is North Americas largest and longest running sailboat rally. CSSN welcomes everyone to the region and hopes that all will make good use of the many resources available on our website, www.safetyandsecuritynet.org, including (free) ALERTS, HOTSpots! and the daily HF broadcast “KPK” ( 8104 at 0815 AST, generally following the coconut telegraph on 8170 at 0800) .
