DETAILS: While the owners slept their not locked catamaran anchored off Bay Road was boarded, presumably by a swimmer. The thief took cash, computers and cellphones before departing in the yacht’s in-the-water and not locked dinghy. The dinghy was later recovered ashore and a police report made in Basseterre, St. Kitts.

When checking into Charlestown, Nevis, the Air and Seaport Authority collects several fees, including one for mooring usage, regardless of whether you utilize their moorings or anchor. A recent visitor reports that he picked up a mooring with a new looking pennant, but that when he dove to check it, he found the underwater section badly worn, with barely a thread remaining. He dove several others and did find they seemed to be in good order. The captain sent an email to Sea and Ports, but received no response.
