DETAILS: A catamaran anchored at Sandy island secured their in-the-water center console RIB dinghy/70HP Yamaha (engine serial number 6CJL 1077247, RIB H/N is CN-HFM00423K617) with a locking cable and a painter. It was stolen between 2200-2245HRS.
A report to the Coast Guard and police was made.
UPDATE: 4/10/2024 The owner recovered the intact dinghy on 2/14/2024 when a tracker indicated it was located at the True Blue Coast Guard Station. The Coast Guard had collected the dinghy from a fisherman who indicated he found it north of Grenada. A substantial reward was offered. The fisherman failed to make the required sworn statement to authorities as he had previously agreed, so the reward remains unclaimed.
