Important Notice from CSSN

From: Kim White, CSSN

Dear CSSN community,

This is a letter of apology. I took the incident reports you so graciously provided to CSSN and to the cruising community and put them in a place they truly do not belong, Facebook Cruiser Group(s). My intentions were honest, my perspective naive, severely shortsighted, and ultimately badly flawed. Mea Culpa.

I am going to take a do-over, and make it as right as I can going forward.

  1. Direct feeds of Incident Reports and News Items to all social media, other than our own pages, and the personal accounts you have subscribed with, will cease immediately.

  2. Those who choose to get incident reports from us in their personal social media accounts will be encouraged to be cautious and thoughtful when sharing or re-posting as a matter of respect and courtesy to those who shared it with us. If you notice that comments on your shares or re-posts become dysfunctional please manage them the best you can. I will simply have to trust that you will do this.

  3. Anyone who makes a report to CSSN has, and will always have the option of personally taking their report to any place they wish, and with it the responsibility to manage it once there. CSSN does not have the resources nor is it advisable to attempt to do it on your behalf.

The alternative of disabling a communications pathway that some of you use as an alternative to email seems a bit dire.

I am profoundly sorry to have made this series of missteps, please forgive me.

As always, CSSN welcomes your feedback at safetyandsecuritynet@gmail.com. We are sincere in our efforts to improve what we do for you, the cruising community.
